Lady Gaga rehearsed her 2023 Oscars performance in full glam before stripping off all her makeup to take the stage.
The 36-year-old hitmaker was a surprise performer during the awards ceremony on Sunday (March 12). She belted out her Oscar-nominated track “Hold My Hand” off the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack.
After walking the red carpet in a glam gown and a full face of makeup, Mother Monster performed in a pair of ripped jeans and an oversized shirt. Her newly released rehearsal footage offers a dramatically different look at the number.

Taking to TikTok on Thursday (March 16), Gaga shared footage from “the rehearsal no one saw.” The clip is just under a minute and a half long and finds her sitting at the piano and belting out the anthem in her red carpet look.
“Love you all, thanks for being so supportive of a song that means so much to me,” she wrote in the caption.
