Kirkbean Primary said some emotional farewells before the school holidays.
The end of term ceremony was packed with families, ex pupils, friends, staff and former head teacher Mr Bodell.
Awards were presented and P7s Boyd, Charlee and Kristina read out their memories of their time at Kirkbean Primary ahead of their move to Dalbeattie High. They also received certificates and gifts.
That was followed by special presentations to Mrs Lyle, who is retiring after 23 years at Kirkbean.
The children, staff and parent council presented beautiful gifts on behalf of families and community.
A beautiful quilt was kindly made by Ann Hill BEM using self-portraits made by the children.
Best wishes to the children in S1 and to Mrs Lyle on her retirement. She will be greatly missed but has promised to come back now and again to volunteer.
As an end of term treat and to mark her retirement, Mrs Lyle paid for The Kingdom of Creatures to visit.
The children handled a bearded dragon, gecko, stick insect, guinea pig and much more.
They had a quiz about what they learned, did sand art and were given balloon models.
It was the perfect way to end the term.
