King Charles to use Coronation to mend division in his family as Prince Andrew is 'brought in from the cold'

King Charles III’s coronation is well underway — under the dark of night — in London.The elaborate run-through took place overnight from Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar Square and Downing Street and then onward to Westminster Abbey.Thousands of soldiers from the army, navy and RAF participated in the practice in the evening, with many onlookers trying to get a glimpse of the session.The Diamond Jubilee State Coach and Gold State Coach were also spotted trailing down the Mall for the rehearsal.

This weekend will see King Charles III and Queen Camilla officially crowned during their Coronation at Westminster Abbey. Charles, who instantly became monarch last September following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, will leave the Abbey with his wife and other senior members of the royal family and head back to Buckingham Palace, where they’ll pose on the iconic balcony for photographs.

With royal engagements taking place all across the globe, members of the royal family live a rather jetset lifestyle. From meet and greets in Scotland to state visits to Germany, King Charles III ’s role as monarch has taken him to various countries in recent months where he has met people from all different walks of life.

The nation is united for King Charles III's coronation - the first one in the UK for more than 70 years.The historic occasion at Westminster Abbey on May 6 will see His Majesty crowned alongside wife Camilla, who will become Queen. Around 2,000 dignitaries are expected to attend, with members of the royal family rubbing shoulders with representatives from the government, church and the Commonwealth.

Princess Anne will feature in King Charles' glittering procession to Buckingham Palace after he has been crowned. Anne will ride on horseback behind the gold state coach carrying the newly crowned King and Queen Consort as they travel down The Mall.The Mirror reported Charles has given his younger sister the prominent role during the historic day in recognition of her service.The newspaper reported a royal source as saying about Charles: “He is rewarding the Princess Royal for her loyalty and her unwavering devotion to duty.” Hundreds of troops will take part in the procession through the streets of the capital, likely to be led by the Household Cavalry’s Life Guards and Blues and Royals.The procession from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace will include armed forces personnel from across the Commonwealth and British overseas territories, and all UK armed forces, the newspaper reported.

Two thousand guests will gather in Westminster Abbey for King Charles’ Coronation to see His Majesty officially crowned alongside Queen Consort, Camilla. Buckingham Palace says the service will reflect the 74-year-old monarch’s role today and looking towards the future, while still being rooted in long standing traditions and pageantry of the past.

Meghan Markle reportedly claimed King Charles III and the royal family were racist in a letter she wrote to her father-in-law.  Following Markle and Prince Harry’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duchess of Sussex penned Charles a letter with her concerns about "unconscious bias." In the documents, the mother of two shared that a senior royal was prejudiced toward Markle after "concerns and conversations" about the color of their unborn son’s skin were discussed, according to The Telegraph. The letters between Charles and Markle "acknowledged that the individual’s remark was not made with malice." The Prince of Wales at the time reportedly wrote back to Markle about feeling "let down" by his own son Harry and daughter-in-law.  Charles expressed "deep concern" and disappointment with the couple for the damaging allegations.

King Charles III‘s coronation is coming up a lot quicker than fans have expected, and there are still so many questions about the day of events.

GB News host was speaking to royal biographer Tom Bower on the King's attempt to smooth over the relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. With the Coronation taking place next month, the monarch has decided to include a family portrait which features Harry and Meghan in the official Buckingham Palace souvenir programme. The photograph, which was taken back in 2018, shows Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children all laughing together in the gardens of Clarence House.

They infamously stepped down as senior members of the British royal family in January 2020 and ever since, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the monarch has been strained. So, the question of whether King Charles wants Meghan at his coronation remains.

A consolation invite? After Sarah Ferguson was left off the guest list for King Charles III’s official coronation, she will reportedly attend another celebratory event that weekend.

The 59 year old royal - who was officially made Duke of Edinburgh on his birthday last month - joined The Great British Bake Off judge Dame Prue Leith in trying the official coronation pastry at a special Big Lunch at Westminster Abbey on Tuesday, attended by faith leaders from across the country.

Hosted by the Dean of Westminster, the outdoor event was organised to inspire people to organise their own celebratory events, showing how food can bring together people of all faiths and backgrounds.Tens of thousands of street parties are expected to be held during the coronation weekend, with people encouraged to come together across the country for the Coronation Big Lunch on Sunday May 7.

King Charles III visited familiar grounds on Friday, when he attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for its 200th Sovereign's Parade.The monarch took part in inspecting the nearly 200 cadets who were officially commissioned as Army Officers following an intense 44-week training. According to the British Army, Charles also presented the new colors for the academy, which «bore the new cypher of His Majesty the King.» Their titles, however, won't be official until «the stroke of midnight during their commissioning ball.»Charles also addressed the cadets when he gave a speech, in which he recalled with pride his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, both of whom graduated from Sandhurst in 2006.«And, speaking as a father of two alumni of this Academy who remembers their passing out parades, I know they will be full of immense pride in witnessing you on parade,» he said.Charles also recalled his own rigorous training some five decades ago.Prince William and Prince Harry smile at the passing-out Sovereign's Parade at Sandhurst Military Academy on April 12, 2006 in Sandhurst, England.«Having attended — and survived! -- two of the other Military Academies 50 years ago, I think I have some idea of the challenges which are inherent in military training,» he said.
