A charitable Edinburgh resident left boxes full of food on a park bench for others to pick up for free.
A local noticed the collection while on a walk in Leith Links Park before posting about the kind gesture on Facebook, letting others who may be struggling this winter know of its whereabouts.
Two large boxes and a bag of essentials were left on the bench, stocked full of bread, rolls, fruit and vegetables, along with a note that read: "free to use, please put the lid back on.
It is believed to be a gesture of good will to the homeless individuals in the area, and has become a regular occurrence over the last few years, according to Edinburgh Live.
The local who shared the collection of food said: "passed this on the bench at the end of the links just before the bridge over towards Seafield - boxes filled with bread, rolls, general food etc free to whoever needs it. What a kind thing to do."
People in the comments also said that this has been a regular event, with one individual taking it upon themselves to provide help for those who are in need, especially during the winter months.
As well as helping those who are a bit strapped for cash or fighting with homelessness, it also provides help for those who are still struggling with the notion of being in and around shops during the pandemic.
As a lot of people have suffered with anxiety and mental health issues during the pandemic, this idea benefits those who still feel uncomfortable being within close proximity of others.
Similar to a comedic note informing locals on how to keep warm this winter that was left in various bus stops in the Leith area, it shows that the local community have each other's backs during the most difficult of times.
