K.J. Yossman Gene Fallaize, the director of Kevin Spacey’s most recent film, has said he stands by his decision to cast the actor while he was awaiting trial for sexual assault. Spacey was cleared on all counts on Thursday following a four-week trial in London’s Southwark Crown Court.

He was accused of performing a sex act on a former aspiring actor while he slept, and of several other assaults – including grabbing a driver’s crotch during a car ride to a celebrity party outside London.Ahead of the trial, Spacey denied all the charges and described the prosecution’s case against him as “weak”.In court, the actor said he had been “open” about times he had been “promiscuous”, saying: “It doesn’t make me a bad person.”During his closing speech, Spacey’s defence barrister, Patrick Gibbs KC, accused three of the four men of lying “for reasons which, ultimately, will only ever be known to themselves”, while suggesting the fourth was intoxicated.“It’s not a crime to like sex, even if you’re famous and it’s not a crime to have sex, even if you’re famous, and it’s not a crime to have casual sex,” Gibbs told jurors.

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent French actor-director Nicolas Bedos, who is facing trial in February 2024 for an alleged sexual assault under the influence of alcohol dating from June 1, is now being investigated on rape and sexual assault charges after three complaints were filed with the Paris prosecutor. News of the preliminary investigation was first reported in a bombshell investigative report published by French outlet Mediapart. The investigation cites four women, two of whom addressed a letter to the public prosecutor. The prosecutor’s spokesperson confirmed to Variety that a preliminary investigation was opened on July 5 on charges of alleged sexual assault and rape “after receiving three distinct complaints against Nicolas Bedos.”

One of the four men accusing Spacey of aggressive sexual advances said the actor grabbed his crotch on the drive to the event in Windsor in 2004 or 2005.Spacey, who took the stand last week to testify on his own behalf, also told the court that he had only attended the ball in 2001.

One of the alleged victims accused Spacey of aggressively grabbing his crotch while he was driving with him to the ball in 2004 or 2005. Spacey testified that he only attended the event in 2001.
