In the new documentary Katie Price: Trauma and Me, mum of five Katie opens up about her mental health struggles. And ahead of the show airing this Thursday, in a new interview with OK! the star told us that because her family is so close, they don't understand why she suffers. Katie, who talks about her battle with depression and PTSD on the documentary, said: "My mum, my sister, my dad, my brother, I know you don’t get to see all of them in the documentary but you can not get a tighter knitted family together.
Our bond is so strong. And that’s what none of [them] can understand. "Why did this happen to me because we’re all so strong? But there’s reasons why it’s happened to me and they understand it.
And no one could have done anything about it. It’s people taking advantage of me. It’s just happened all of my life." The 44 year old, who during the doc meets other people living with PTSD as she tries to work through her trauma to better her mental health, added: "But now, like I say, triggers, if I see anything this or that, I don’t go on Instagram and say, "That’s wrong." Don’t get me wrong, it crosses my mind and I think, “right, I need to rectify this” and then I’m like, “count down, count down, count down” and by the time I’m at zero I’ll forget it.
"You just have to learn and I’ll feel better and you just feel stronger for that. I don’t need to rectify it or prove anything to anyone. I know the truth, so, yeah.
