Katie Price's mum, Amy, has said that her daughter "lost sight of who she was" when she turned into her glamour model alter-ego, Jordan. Amy, 71, has opened up about being Katie's mother, as well as the struggles that Katie, 45, a mum-of-five, has faced through the years - which have been well-documented. Amy, who is is living with terminal idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, is currently on a promotional trail for her new memoir, The Last Word.
In the book, she spoke about Katie being 'molested' by a man in a park when she was just seven years old, whilst her young friend was forced to perform a sex act on the man, who had lured them into scrubland. Amy described how the day went from “being idyllic to nightmarish," and went on to talk about the effects she believed it had on Katie, as she became more "body-conscious". Katie started doing topless modelling shoots, and in 1996 she became 'Jordan' which is the name she did all of her work under.
Amy recalled how her daughter would 'go to work' and become someone else as she turned into 'Jordan'. In excerpts shared with The Sun, Amy said: “I would watch my vulnerable, ordinary daughter Kate take off her comfy tracksuit and slippers and put on thick make-up and outrageous outfits, ready to go out into the world as Jordan. "She’d simply say, ‘I’m off to work now Mum’ and the next day I would see photographs of her falling out of clubs drunk and playing up to the cameras.
