Kathleen Turner Joins ‘The White House Plumbers’ HBO Watergate Limited Series

The Staircase.As reported by Deadline, the Game of Thrones actress joins Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Parker Posey, Juliette Binoche, and Rosemarie DeWitt in the HBO Max series.The eight-episode series is based on a docuseries of the same name. It will focus on the  case of Michael Peterson played by Firth, who was accused of murdering his wife Kathleen (Collette) in 2001.

Sansa Stark is heading back to HBO. Okay, well maybe not Sansa Stark, but Sophie Turner is returning to the premium network that spawned “Game of Thrones.” And no, it’s not in a ‘Thrones’ spinoff.

Sophie Turner was cast in a role in the upcoming HBO Max limited series "The Staircase," which chronicles the real-life death of Kathleen Peterson that sent her family into a years-long court battle.  The case was previously covered in a French documentary also titled "The Staircase," which came out in 2004 and received multiple follow-ups that were eventually released on Netflix.

Parker Posey is set to star alongside Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Juliette Binoche and Rosemarie DeWitt in The Staircase, HBO Max’s drama limited series adaptation based on the true-crime docuseries.

Jesse Plemons (Fargo, Black Mirror) is set as a lead opposite Elizabeth Olsen in HBO Max’s Love and Death, a limited series about the true story of Wylie, TX, housewife Candy Montgomery’s murder of Betty Gore in 1980. Olsen stars as Montgomery in the series, from the Big Little Lies and The Undoing duo of David E. Kelley and Nicole Kidman and Lionsgate Television.

She’s joining an impressively stacked cast that includes Woody Harrelson as E.

While we’re likely going to have to wait a little longer before Warner Bros. gives us their “Green Lantern Corps.” movie, however, there is a “Green Lantern” series in the works at HBO Max that will cover a bulk of the other human heroes that joined the group of cosmic cops.

Jon Bernthal, Josh Charles and Jamie Hector have been tapped as the leads of HBO’s We Own This City limited series, from The Wire’s EP David Simon and producer George Pelecanos. Reinaldo Marcus Green (Monsters and Men) is set to direct and executive produce the series, based on Baltimore Sun reporter Justin Fenton’s book We Own This City: A True Story of Crime, Cops and Corruption. Production is set to begin in July.
