Kate Winslet is a generational acting talent, and her critically acclaimed movies and TV shows are a testament to her success.
The 47-year-old British actress’ career began in the early 1990s and skyrocketed to the pinnacle of Hollywood by the decade’s end. Kate attained A-list status in 1997 when she starred in James Cameron‘s film Titanic, which remains one of history’s most iconic romance and disaster flicks.
A seven-time Oscar nominee, Kate won her first Academy Award in 2009 for best lead actress for The Reader. She has also earned a pair of Emmy Awards from four nominations.
Although Kate‘s role in Titanic still stands as her most memorable performance in the minds of many, the actress’ other projects have impressed critics the most, according to Rotten Tomatoes, as six movies and one TV show sit above a 90% approval rating.
FYI: If you don’t know, Rotten Tomatoes ranks a movie “fresh,” when “at least 60% of reviews for a movie or TV show are positive,” and ranks a movie “certified fresh” with “a steady Tomatometer score of 75% or higher,” and “at least five reviews from Top Critics,” among other qualifiers.
