Prince Louis, the youngest of Kate Middleton and Prince William's three children, is known for his lively personality, but if he ever steps out of line at home, his parents have a smart trick up their sleeves.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, who are hands-on parents to Louis, Charlotte, eight, and George, ten, believe in open communication with their kids, reports Mirror Online. If one of them gets upset or loses their cool, they're taken aside for a 'sofa chat' - this means instead of leaving them alone with their feelings, a parent is there to help them understand what happened.
Another rule in the Wales household is 'no shouting' and any child who raises their voice is removed from the situation - and likewise, William and Kate never shout when disciplining their children. A source once told The Sun that Kate tends to be "slightly stricter" than William.
They also revealed that the royal couple's nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, always makes disciplinary decisions in agreement with Kate and William. The insider shared: "Maria is firm but she never acts unilaterally with the children on discipline.
Kate and William, along with Maria, are strict with the children but have this magic ability to appear not to be. "It is a military operation but you would never guess it because they work ferociously hard on their children’s upbringing and making it seem relaxed and happy for the three of them.
They are very good at listening to the children but being firm." Maria, who has been the Royal nanny since 2014, was born in Spain and studied at Norland College in Bath, UK.
