Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid and Ed Balls took aim at Prince William as they had their say on the Kate Middleton photo scandal to point out a little known truth about the controversial Mother's Day post.
In the last day, a photo was posted by Kensington Palace for Mother's Day which shows the Princess of Wales smiling for the camera with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
However, the photograph has since been subjected to a kill notice by four major picture agencies including The Associated Press (AP) Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP) and Getty Images over claims that the photo has been "manipulated", writes The Mirror.
Kensington Palace said that the photo was taken in Windsor last week by Prince William but speculation grew that it had been edited when eagle eyed fans noticed on social media that the sleeve of Princess Charlotte's arm did not line-up whilst questions were also raised about Prince George's right hand being out of focus.
On the ITV show this morning, hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls discussed the photo with a string of guests including The Mirror's Kevin Maguire and fellow journalist Andrew Pierce.
Kevin insisted that Kensington Palace needed to issue a statement quickly to avoid speculation continuing to grow.
He went on to say that it could be the case that the photo was taken by William and, as he's not a photographer, was out of focus and they needed to make the edits. Susanna said: "Unfortunately they've undermined that - if it is the case that the photo was edited."
Kevin then added: "Seven, eight, nine o'clock this morning, they've got to get a statement out. In the admission, they've got to say, we thought it looked better," as Andrew chimed in to add
