Kate Garraway's husband Derek Draper isn't in a 'good way' according to her co-star as she sent a message of support. Derek, a former Labour lobbyist, contracted coronavirus in March 2020 and was taken to the hospital where he was put in an induced coma.
He spent just over a year in the hospital before returning home to Kate and their children - Darcy and Billy - in April 2021 and has needed round-the-clock care ever since due to the damaging effects the virus had on his body.
Kate recently shared how Derek was in the hospital for planned treatment. However, reports which broke over the weekend suggested that Derek, 56, was taken dangerously ill last Monday (December 11) after suffering a 'massive heart attack', according to the Mirror.

Kate, also 56, has since cancelled all TV and radio work while she continues to support Derek around the clock at his bedside. Now, Smooth FM Breakfast presenter Jenni Falconer appeared to give listeners an update as she sent a message of support to Kate.
On Tuesday (December 19), she said "it doesn't look like he's in a good way". Jenni said: "On behalf everyone here at Smooth we’re sending lots of love and Smooth best wishes to our very own Kate Garraway.
"Kate’s husband Derek as we all know has been struggling with long-lasting damage since he suffered from covid and it doesn’t look good at the moment, it doesn’t look like he’s in a good way." She added: "So we’re sending lots of love to Kate, Derek and the family… especially at this time of the year."
