Kate Garraway has revealed the heartbreaking reason she refuses to remove her wedding ring amid her husband Derek Draper’s health battle. The 54 year old Good Morning Britain presenter appeared on Tuesday's episode of Love Your Garden Themed Specials where she unveiled her "very emotional" garden transformation for Derek.The episode showed Kate creating her first "health and well-being garden" to suit the changing needs of her family as Derek continues to battle the devastating effects of coronavirus.
While many viewers were in awe of the incredible transformation, some were quick to notice that Kate didn’t remove her ring while getting her hands dirty. Glad you are enjoying the programme xxx.” Speaking before the makeover, Kate said: "I think the last year and a half has been very tough for everyone and our challenges have been that my husband Derek got very sick in March 2020 for a long period he was in hospital in a coma.
"We were here, in the garden, on our own not knowing whether he'd live or die, trying to manage that fear. It made me view the garden in a whole different way.
