Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have finally released their controversial new collaborative album, ‘Vultures 1’.The pair have been teasing their new album for some months, after news first circulated in August 2023 that West would be releasing new music “imminently” before reports of a late January release and then a drop date set for yesterday (Friday February 9).When that failed to materialise, many expected an indefinite wait. There was some delay before it arrived on the latter, leading many to believe that it might be available on the platform. The 16-track album also features contributions Lil Durk, Bump J, Freddie Gibbs, Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, Quavo, and West’s daughter, North.

reputation.Music producer and frequent Taylor Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff is slamming Kanye West for his continued unprovoked attacks against the “Fearless” singer.“I’m a little b–ch sometimes,” Antonoff, 39, told the Los Angeles Times prior to the 2024 Grammy Awards. “But you come after my friend Taylor, you’re toast to me.”When asked about West, who has seemingly tried to reignite his feud with Swift, Antonoff laughed and said West, 46, “just needs his diaper changed so badly.”“It’s been a long time since I would’ve taken Kanye’s call,” Antonoff said when asked if he’s worried about roasting a potential collaborator.
Donna Summer has sued Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign for the alleged illegal use of ‘I Feel Love’ on their collaborative album ‘Vultures 1’.According to the Associated Press, the copyright infringement lawsuit was filed in federal court in Los Angeles, California yesterday (February 27) by Summer’s husband Bruce Sudano in his role as executor of the estate. The suit alleges that representatives of West had asked permission to use the 1977 song on the track ‘Good (Don’t Die)’. However, it claims they were rejected because the Summer estate “wanted no association with West’s controversial history”.Sudano claims that West and Ty then approached Summer’s record label, Universal Music Enterprises, in a bid to be granted permission, but the label also denied their request.Ye and Ty have been accused of “shamelessly” including re-recorded parts of the hit that were “instantly recognisable” on the ‘Vultures 1’ cut.The suit states: “In the face of this rejection, defendants arrogantly and unilaterally decided they would simply steal ‘I Feel Love’ and use it without permission.”The lawsuit names both West and Ty as defendants, as well as Yeezy Record Label, LLC, the company Yzy Snd, and 10 Does.
Steven J. Horowitz Senior Music Writer Donna Summer’s estate has sued Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign for copyright infringement over the unauthorized interpolation of the late singer’s “I Feel Love” on their song “Good (Don’t Die).” The suit, filed in California on Tuesday, asserts that West and Ty initially asked for permission to sample and use parts of “I Feel Love” on “Good (Don’t Die),” and were explicitly denied. “Good (Don’t Die)” is included on the duo’s latest album “Vultures 1,” featuring a female voice singing altered lyrics to the melody of “I Feel Love.” After the release of “Vultures 1” in early February, Summer’s husband Bruce Sudano took to socials to publicly denounce the interpolation on the song.

Steven J. Horowitz Senior Music Writer On “Do It,” nestled halfway through Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s collaborative album “Vultures 1,” America’s second-biggest controversy magnet raps, “You don’t like it? That’s your loss.” Contending and conversing with West’s music in 2024 is an obstacle course. The rapper, undeniably one of music’s most influential creative forces, has spent the past few years making headlines less for his music than the controversies by his own hand (and mouth), alienating casual listeners with divisive rhetoric and forcing his core fan base to reconcile with their evaluation of art made by a deeply polarizing artist.
