Jussie Smollett’s “Attackers” Tell All In New Docuseries

Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax, brothers Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo admitted they were the ones who attacked Smollett, and they’re not holding back any details.Back in 2019, Smollett paid the Osundairo siblings $3,500 to stage the attack on the streets of Chicago. After he went to the hospital and the story broke via social media, the actor claimed that a pair of MAGA hat-wearing white supremacists were responsible. The story quickly gained media attention, and the public was outraged at the apparent hate crime. However, during the investigation and subsequent trial, it was revealed that Smollett had concocted the whole thing as a bid for attention and sympathy. In their interview, the brothers revealed that Smollett wanted to be seen as someone inspiration to both black and gay people.“He wanted to be the poster boy for activism,” they said. “He wanted to be the hero.” They also stated that they took up Smollett’s offer to beat him up because they thought he would eventually help their career. The brothers revealed that they felt betrayed by Smollett after the fraud was revealed, and they called him “insane.”They also said that when they were caught, Smollett threw them under the bus and denied everything.“That’s when I knew that this dude was like a supervillain,” one of the brothers said.

‘Sisi & I’ Review: Lively, Gorgeously Attired Costume Drama Continues the Radicalization of Austria’s Empress Elisabeth

Guy Lodge Film Critic Nearly 125 years after her assassination, the Empress Elisabeth of Austria — or Sisi to her enduring cultists — continues to inspire a veritable industry of portraiture in Europe: In the last year alone, a novel, two TV series (one of them a glossy Netflix affair) and two feature films have been dedicated to the tightly corseted royal icon. Viewers outside the Continental sphere of Sisi-mania may only have registered one of those films, Marie Kreutzer’s chic, subversive anti-biopic “Corsage,” which might make the second, German director Frauke Finsterwalder’s lush, irreverent “Sisi & I,” seem to them a too-soon spare — coincidentally repeating several tricks from Kreutzer’s anachronistic playbook with its modern feminist inflections, contemporary soundtrack cues and sensational fashions, albeit with plenty of its own panache.

Jussie Smollett appeals conviction for hate crime hoax, argues bias

appealing his conviction for staging a racist and homophobic attack on himself and lying to Chicago police about it — nearly a year after he was sentenced to five months in jail. The “Empire” alum, 40, is seeking a new trial, as he claims “prosecutorial misconduct” in this case was “clear and egregious,” according to the 102-page document filed Wednesday with the Illinois Appellate Court and obtained by The Post.A jury convicted Smollett in December 2021 of five counts of disorderly conduct. He had claimed that on a frigid early morning in January 2019, two men approached him in the dark, yelled slurs at him, punched him, poured a chemical substance on him and hung a noose around his neck.Chicago police accused Smollett of recruiting brothers Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo to carry out the attack to boost his burgeoning Hollywood career.Abimbola, an amateur boxer and occasional bit-part actor, testified in court that Smollett, who is black and gay, told him the specific words he wanted the brothers to used were “Empire’, f—-t, n—-r, MAGA.”On March 10, 2022, Smollett was sentenced to 150 days in jail as he continued to proclaim his innocence.
