Since his parents' bitter split in 2009, Junior Andre - along with his sister Princess - have divided their time between glamour model mum Katie Price's mansion and their Aussie singer dad Peter Andre's Surrey home. Now - amid the launch of his eagerly-anticipated second single Only One - Junior, 18, opens up about growing up with a big, blended family, admitting he'd like to welcome a large brood of his own one day. "I think family is so important.
I can’t wait to be a dad," he tells OK!. "I think I’d be a great one. My dad was everything I needed him to be when I was growing up, so I hope I’d naturally be the same when I have kids myself.
"Family gives you core love. When everything hits the fan in life, they’re always still there for you." Junior says growing up with estranged parents never bothered him, and he believes he inherited the best tributes from both his mum and dad. "My dad is so proud that I’m going into music," he says of dad Peter - who lives with doctor wife Emily MacDonagh, 34, and their children Amelia, nine, and Theo, six.
"It’s nice for him as well because I’m taking after him in terms of what I want to do with my life, but putting my own spin on it." Gushing over his dad's support, Junior adds, "He sees the determination he had at my age in me. He’s especially proud that I’m doing this because I really want to." Junior also commends dad Pete, 50, as his biggest inspiration growing up, with the singer introducing him to the world of music, unaware at the time that his son would eventually follow in his footsteps. "Seeing him perform before thousands of people and bringing me on stage to do the Mysterious Girl hip thing when I was just nine years old was inspiring," he says.
