Harvey Weinstein has been named in another lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault and battery.
The disgraced film producer is currently serving time in prison after being convicted of rape and sexual assault in December 2022.
He is now being sued by actress Julia Ormond, who alleges that he assaulted her in 1995. The actress has also named CAA (her agency at the time), Disney and Miramax in the lawsuit for allegedly allowing Harvey‘s behavior to continue.

The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday (October 4) in New York City and obtained by Variety, alleges that Julia was assaulted after attending a meal with Harvey. She alleged that her team at CAA urged her against going public with her accusations at the time since Harvey was so powerful.
Julia also alleges that Miramax and Disney were both aware of the producer’s misdeeds.
“Brazenly, none of these prominent companies warned Ormond that Weinstein had a history of assaulting women because he was too important, too powerful, and made them too much money,” her lawsuit reads.
While neither Disney nor Miramax have yet to respond, Harvey‘s team has denied the allegations. His legal team said that he was “prepared to vehemently defend himself.”
CAA also claimed that the lawsuit was “baseless” and “completely without merit.”
Meanwhile, Julia explained why she decided to come forward in a statement shared with the publication: “I am coming forward with my story now publicly because I feel as if we still need systemic change, and I feel that we need accountability from enablers, in order to get there,” she said. “I feel that this is what happened with me.”
