Jodie Whittaker 'will wear past Doctor Who outfits in her finale'

Two past winners, both considered upsets in their respective victories, are back to square off against four veteran stars looking for their first win in this category. Three of the nominees are on their last chance for their popular series but, with no one from last year mucking things up, this race looks too close to call, a real free-for-all that just might result in a major twist.

We are mere days away from the release of Lucasfilm’s latest foray into the galaxy far, far away, “Andor.” And as with every major franchise nowadays, the release of a new project just means there will be plenty of questions about what’s to come next. And boy howdy, Lucasfilm has a lot of “Star Wars” TV content on the horizon, including what might be the most mysterious (and thus, interesting) project, “The Acolyte.” But as we get closer to production, at least we’re getting more information about who might star in the cast of the outlier “Star Wars” series.

British actress Jodie Comer (“The Last Duel“) is set to lead a new London-set apocalypse thriller from director Mahalia Belo (“The Long Song“) and Benedict Cumberbatch’s SunnyMarch that is based on the Megan Hunter novel “The End We Start From.” The pic’s script is also being adapted by “Succession” writer Alice Birch and sees characters navigating a mysterious environmental crisis in London as the city becomes submerged by flood waters.

Naman Ramachandran U.K. broadcaster Channel 4 was the big winner at the Edinburgh TV Awards, winning six of the 20 awards on offer, including Channel of the Year. The awards returned as an in-person event this year as part of the Edinburgh TV Festival, supported by Screen Scotland. Full House alum Jodie Sweetin has experienced highs and lows over the course of 2022 so far, from getting engaged to her boyfriend Mescal Wasilewski to the loss of her Full House dad Bob Saget. Her engagement, which prompted messages of love from other stars, including her TV sister Candace Cameron Bure, evolved into something more permanent after some difficulties, as Sweetin and her fiancé tied the knot on July 30.

"Full House" actress Jodie Sweetin says she felt her late co-star Bob Saget’s presence at her wedding.  Sweetin, 40, married her longtime love, Mescal Wasilewski, in a romantic wedding ceremony at a private home in Malibu on July 30.  A few of her former castmates were in attendance, including Candace Cameron Bure and John Stamos, and Sweetin says Saget also made a special appearance.  The actress told E! News' "Daily Pop" that as Stamos was leaving the house for the wedding, his wife, Caitlin McHugh, told him to swap shirts, since it was "not working" with his outfit.  Stamos later discovered the shirt he chose was too big for him, and realized the article of clothing belonged to his beloved co-star.  "Full House" actress Jodie Sweetin says she felt her late co-star Bob Saget’s presence at her wedding. Austin Butler just played the legendary musician in the movie "Elvis" and will now star in director Jeff Nichols' next movie "The Bikeriders" with Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy.  According to Variety, "The Bikeriders" is named after the 1967 Danny Lyon photography book and "tells an original story about a '60s Midwestern motorcycle club as it evolves over the course of a decade from a community for outsiders into a far more sinister gang."  The movie has brought Sarah Green and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones onboard to produce with Fred Berger as the films executive producer.
