Jerry Springer has been laid to rest in a private ceremony that was held on Sunday, April 30, Springer’s rep tells ET.The private Jewish ceremony was attended by a small group of people and took place in a suburb of Chicago. TMZ was first to report the news and says a tribute is scheduled to take place on May 16 in Cincinnati, Ohio.In a statement issued to ET, Springer's family confirmed that the late broadcast icon died peacefully on Thursday at his home in suburban Chicago, Illinois, surrounded by his family. «Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word,» said Jene Galvin, a lifelong friend and spokesperson for the family.
