Jeremy Clarkson issues 'worrying' health update that could result in 'agonising' death

Jeremy Clarkson has told fans about a 'worrying' health update he received from his GP that's down to one of his daily habits.
The former Top Gear presenter revealed he has been diagnosed with high blood pressure, and has even been warned that this could result in an "agonising and painful death".
And to keep his levels under control, the TV star was told he has to stay away from the nicotine gum, which he started chewing after giving up smoking a few years ago.
Birmingham Live reports that the 63-year-old used to smoke 43 cigarettes every day until he was rushed to hospital with pneumonia in 2017.
But the nicotine gum has had an incredibly negative effect on his blood pressure, with a "worrying rise" being down to the popular quitting tactic.
The former Top Gear star told The Sun: “For most of my adult life, stern-faced doctors warned me that if I didn’t give up smoking, I would suffer from an agonising and premature death. So six years ago I bit the bullet and replaced my 40-a-day habit with sheet after sheet of full-strength nicotine gum.
“And this week a doctor said it’s causing a worrying rise in my blood pressure and that if I don’t pack it in soon, I will suffer from an agonising and premature death."
If high blood pressure isn't treated, more serious problems can occur like heart attacks and strokes, according to the NHS. It also puts additional strain on blood vessels, as well as the heart and other organs such as the brain and kidneys.
Speaking about giving up cigarettes after falling ill on holiday, Jeremy told The Sunday Times at the time: "I was told, by everyone, that I had to stop. Immediately."
