Chris Stapleton was crowned Entertainer of the Year at the 2023 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards on Thursday night. The Tennessee Whiskey singer won the night's most coveted honour at the awards ceremony, which was held at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. It marked the country star's first time winning the prize, and his win qualifies him for the coveted ACM Triple Crown Award, celebrating artists who have won New Female/Male Artist of the Year, Female/Male Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.

Chris Stapleton took home the coveted Academy of Country Music entertainer of the year honors, while Lainey Wilson was named female artist of the year and Morgan Wallen was male artist of the year at tonight’s 58th annual ACM Awards.

Dolly Parton gave Garth Brooks a little more than he bargained for as co-host of the Academy of Country Music Awards Thursday. During the 2023 ACMs opening monologue at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, Brooks took a minute to honor Parton, the "G.O.A.T." The acronym stands for "greatest of all time." On cue, Dolly rolled out on stage with a live goat in a wagon and jokingly said, "Did I hear you say you were looking for a goat? I've got your goat right here." They shared kind exchanges back and forth before Dolly mentioned hearing she's a "hall pass" for Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood. "I just had a thought," Parton said.

Accepting for album of the year, Wilson said, “I wrote 300 songs during the pandemic.” Noting that some fans have said listening to her “Bell Bottom Country” album helped save their lives, Wilson said, “Writing these songs saved mine.” She quoted one of her own lines: “Be who you are, ’cause everybody else is taken.”
