Jeffrey Carlson has reportedly died.
The actor, known for his groundbreaking role as the trans character Zarf in All My Children, passed away at the age of 48, according to Time Out‘s Adam Feldman.

“RIP Jeffrey Carlson, 48, exposed-nerve star of Broadway (Billy in The Goat, Marilyn in Taboo) and TV (the groundbreaking trans character Zoe on All My Children). A powerful actor and a painful loss,” he wrote.
The actor had been on the daytime TV series since 2006.
The actor’s mother reportedly had named him after the fictional character Jeff Martin due to her love of All My Children, via Deadline.
He first played Zarf in August 2006, returning in November, when his character was revealed to be a trans woman named Zoe.
