Janey Godley has given fans an health update and revealed how she is coping after getting the all clear following a gruelling battle with ovarian cancer.
Last year, the Scots comedian was diagnosed with stage 3b cancer and following a hysterectomy and tough chemotherapy sessions, last month the funny woman announced that her latest scan was clear. Today she took to Twitter to give her fans an update on how she's feeling.
Sipping on a coffee at Glasgow's Eusebi Deli, Janey smiled at the camera. She said: "I just wanted to give everybody a wee update on what is happening. It's been a good few weeks since I had my last chemo and I'm on these tablets that try and stop the cancer from returning.
She added: "I have to be incredibly grateful that I got a clear scan the last time I got scanned. But I'm also very very aware that the type of cancer that I had has a 70 to 90 per cent chance of returning and that is quite a blow cause you think well what do I do now?
"Well, you live! You live for the time you've got. You get out, you enjoy your life, you try and keep as strong and healthy as you can until the next time some other piece of f****** s*** is flung at you then you deal with that. I mean I don't believe in fighting or being brave I believe in throwing hunners of chemicals and medicines at my cancer and that's what I've been doing.
"So on one hand I've got a clear scan and then on the other hand I'm acutely aware that stage three ovarian cancer is a pretty persistent b****** but I'm enjoying life as it is right now and that's what's important."
She then took her hat off and beamed: "And my hair is growing back in! Thanks everybody!" Fans were happy to hear Janey's inspirational words about living her life for the moment.
