James Martin's future at ITV is under threat as bosses have been left furious about the recent bullying allegations that have emerged.
The broadcaster is said to be reeling following the Phillip Schofield scandal, and allegations of a toxic workplace at This Morning, and is keen to avoid more backlash. James, 51, has been accused of 'bullying and intimidating behaviour' by crew members as well as leaked audio heard the chef go on a 10-minute swear-filled rant behind the scenes of his show in 2018.
The chef swore 42 times in a rage after a drain at his home was blocked during filming for his show James Martin's Saturday Morning. James addressed the scandal and posted a lengthy statement on social media where he explained his side of the story, and apologised to everyone involved in the incident.
Now, according to the Daily Mail bosses at ITV are facing 'serious lobbying' against the chef returning to the broadcaster following previous complaints about the network. An insider told the publication: "There have been many allegations made against James now."
They continued: "While there is one series to be made under contract, there is nothing else in the pipeline and there is some strong lobbying taking place that he shouldn't be signed up again."
James was met with support from Dermot O'Leary, Carol Vorderman, and Fred Sirieix when he released a candid statement addressing the controversy. He wrote: "Firstly, I would like to publicly and sincerely apologise to the crew involved in this incident, as I did at the time. I have always strived to keep my private life private.
