The 41-year-old Brokeback Mountain star is set to appear in Cut and Run, a heist thriller, Variety reported Tuesday (January 25).

The movie is about “a group of thieves who use high-powered speed boats to rob super-yachts. Their caper takes a turn when they steal the wrong thing from the wrong group of people.”
The script was written by John Glenn, known for Law Abiding Citizen and Clash of the Titans, as well as his current adaptation of The House on Hoarder Hill.

David Ayer is bringing his 2012 movie End of Watch to television. Fox has handed a script-to-series commitment to the police drama project based on original film which starred Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña.

Like the film, the show would follow the daily grind of two young police officers in Los Angeles who are partners and friends, and what happens when they meet criminal forces greater than themselves.Ayer will executive produce via Cedar Park Studios, with the company’s Chris Long and Darryll C. Scott also executive producing.
