Mel B was ever the supportive mum on Monday evening as her daughter, Phoenix Chi, placed second in the 100m race on ITV's The Games. The race kicked off the series, as 23-year-old Phoenix battled Chelcee Grimes,30, Rebecca Sarker, 46, Olivia Attwood, 30, Christine McGuinness, 34, and Lucrezia Millarini, 46. Singer Chelcee ultimately took the crown as she and Phoenix battled for the win - with Mel intently watching as she beamed with pride.
The former Spice Girl took out her phone to snap the special moment from the stands of Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. And she wasn't the only one there to cheer Phoenix on, as her adorable Yorkshire Terrier, Cookie, watched from her lap. Mel even donned a sweater with 'P' stitched into it in navy blue, with a small star next to her daughter's initial.
As the race commenced, commentator Chris Kamara said: 'There's Mel B, she's excited for her daughter'. Despite not placing first in the tight race, Phoenix still made her mark - as Chelcee noted that she was the 'one to watch' during her winner's speech. Then talking to The Games's Instagram story, Chelcee said: 'I feel bad for Phoenix because it was so close, If that was me i'd be fuming, I could feel her - but i'm happy, I wanted that, i've come for it so onto the next one.
'While Phoenix chimed in: 'I'm proud of her. She deserved it,' before the pair had a friendly handshake.
