Lorraine Kelly became emotional during Monday's instalment of her breakfast programme as she addressed the heartbreaking news of her colleague's death after she tragically passed away last week at the age of only 33.
Hannah Hawkins, who produced ITV shows such as Lorraine, had been diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time whilst she was pregnant with her son Rory. Her husband Tom paid tribute to his beloved wife following her death on Friday, November 3.
Lorraine was joined by Dr. Hilary on Monday's episode as the Scots presenter admitted she "wasn't able" to read out Hannah's husbands message post on social media.
"I don't think I'll be able to get through it. I won't be able to read it," Lorraine said, according to the Mirror, before becoming visibly emotional.
She continued to say that Hannah was "too young" and her life had been taken "too soon" before sharing her concerns for Hannah's newborn son Rory who will be forced to grow up without his mum at his side.
Lorraine said opening her show: "We've got some very sad news to share about a much-loved member of our team. Our producer, Hannah Hawkins, died just before the weekend after discovering that her cancer had returned only a few months ago - just shortly after she gave birth to her beautiful boy, Rory.
"She was amazing at raising awareness and money for breast cancer including taking part in the CoppaFeel Trek across the Sahara last year, and of course, helping out so much with our Change and Check campaign, which I know meant so much to her.
"Too young, too soon. It's very difficult for all of us, especially for those of us who really knew her. So kind and so universally adored."
