Claims that I’m A Celebrity bosses are editing out scenes of Nigel Farage have been dismissed as “nonsense”.
The former politician now presents a show on GB News, which has featured claims that a conversation was ditched by producers in which Farage discussed Donald Trump.
The controversial pair are known to be friends and have been pictured together on many an occasion, when they have met to discuss business. GB News has also gone on to allege that “ITV execs are making a conscious effort to limit Farage’s screen time”.
But an ITV source has told the Mirror: "This is nonsense. Even if he has mentioned Trump, we can't feature every single camp conversation – there's just not enough screen hours in the day. We're an entertainment show, we can't show everything, it's that simple."
At the start of the current series, the former UKIP leader was wracking up a good amount of airtime as he was chosen for Bushtucker trials. But he’s not been eligible to enter the last few, and has been getting less votes from the public since he was shown saying he wanted to do trials to "get 25% more airtime".An ITV spokesman said: "We're a 60-75 minute Entertainment show, it is always our intention to show a fair and accurate representation of life in camp."
The Mirror reports that once voting lines are open to the public to start eliminating celebrities, GB News is set to be launching a campaign to help him stay in by encouraging viewers to vote for him. It’s also repotted his team will use sophisticated methods to help boost him to become King of the jungle.
Yesterday we reported SNP MP Owen Thompson has slammed ITV bosses for “mediawashing hard right rabblerouser” Farage and urged Ofcom to investigate how Farage was allowed on the show.
