Annoyed Good Morning Britain viewers have asked show bosses "what were you thinking?" as they tuned into the penultimate episode of the week. Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard were at the helm of the ITV news programme on Thursday (March 16) for their first episode of the week, following on from Ed Balls and Susanna Reid being at the helm.
They were back with the latest news headlines and the usual interviews and debates with a heavy focus on reaction from the Spring Budget which the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt unveiled on Wednesday (March 15). While Kate and Ben appeared in the studio, the show had sent Juliet Dunlop to a food factory in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
She was there to speak to employees about the Chancellor's 'back to work' plan which included a major expansion in the access to state-funded childcare and plans to encourage older people back into work.

"We are right in the thick of it," Juliet said to Ranvir Singh, who was delivering the latest news headlines, while holding onto her earpiece while struggling to hear and talk over the noisy machinery in the background.
The journalist then spoke to employees at the factory but GMB viewers watching from home were unimpressed with the segment due to being unable to properly hear the interviews.
