ITV Coronation Street fans gobsmacked as Carla Connor takes ultimate revenge

After months of living the high life on the Coronation Street cobbles after defrauding Carla Connor, Daisy Midgely and Jenny Connor’s treachery finally caught up with them during Wednesday evening’s visit to Weatherfield. As regular viewers will know, Daisy and Jenny stole thousands of pounds from Carla last year following serial killer Stephen Reid’s death and used the money to buy the Rovers Return.
Stephen had originally stolen the money from Carla while working at Underworld in a bid to erase his debts, but following his death, Carla was unable to retrieve the money and believed it had been lost forever. However unknown to her, Daisy and Jenny still had access to Stephen’s laptop and cleared his accounts in order to save their beloved pub.
Keeping the secret to themselves, the pair believed they had gotten away with the crime, however when Bethany Platt, Stephen’s great-niece, began investigating, she realised that Daisy had pocketed the money and to make matters worse, knew that the barmaid had lied to her face by claiming it was a loan. With more and more people beginning to ask questions, during Wednesday’s episode Carla confronted Jenny after agreeing with Bethany that things weren’t adding up.
Coaxing a confession from her, finally the truth all came out and Jenny apologised profusely while vowing to pay back every penny. Daisy showed no remorse for her actions and even mocked Jenny for apologising to her.
However, in the ultimate act of revenge, Carla then declared that the pub was hers as it was her money that had been used to purchase it - and as the new owner, her first act was firing Daisy.
