Local residents living on the border of Moss Side and Hulme have spoken of their worry and shock after a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in the street.
The victim was killed following a 'disturbance' on Moss Lane East, near the junction with Princess Road, just before 8pm last night (Thursday). His friend alerted the emergency services, while two other men involved in the incident fled the scene in a car.
No arrests have been made and a hunt is underway to track down the men, with 'additional police resources deployed'. Neighbours living near the scene described seeing a large number of police swarm the street last night.

They told the Manchester Evening News how despite Moss Side's 'reputation', the area was usually quiet and felt safe with a mixture of locals and students living there. But one resident, Sam Ali, said after the fatal stabbing last night, people will now feel 'extra paranoid'.
She said: "It's scary because this area's usually very quiet and there's a lot of students around here so everyone's going to be extra paranoid. It never happens here.
"Back in the day, I would hear stuff but that was before we were born. But nowadays, it's very quiet."
Another 60-year-old man, who has lived in the area his entire life, described how it used to be 'wild' but had changed recently. He said: "It's changed. It's gone quiet.
"It was wild. But you never know what's going on behind the scenes."
