Prince Harry and Meghan Markle paid Queen Elizabeth a visit at Windsor Castle while on their way to the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.  This is the royal couple’s first joint visit back to the U.K. since they decided to move to Montecito, California, in March 2020 after stepping back as senior members of the royal family. A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed their visit to People on Thursday.  Although this is the first time the royal couple has made their return together to the U.K., Harry has been back for two occasions.

Queen Elizabeth II will be notably missing from the royal family's customary Easter Sunday services. According to a royal source, the monarch will not be in attendance at church on Sunday, April 17 in honor of Easter Sunday, but other members of the royal family will be there. While it is a holiday, it will also mark a solemn occasion — the first anniversary of Prince Philip's funeral at Windsor Castle.

This Morning viewers were left none too pleased as guest Matthew Wright criticised the Queen.The television presenter appeared on Tuesday's instalment of the ITV morning show to discuss the re-release of the 95 year old monarch's book, The Other Side Of The Coin: The Queen, The Dresser, and The Wardrobe. However, 56 year old Matthew made his feelings for the Queen known as he told hosts Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson: "You know, why does a royal family have to be incredibly rich? "If you look at other royal families around Europe, they go around on bicycles, they live normal lives," Matthew said.  He added: "I felt very uncomfortable watching Prince Andrew walk her through the other day for Philip's ceremony." Matthew continued: "And here we hear her dresser breaks in her brand new custom-made shoes for her, so they're more comfortable.

Queen Elizabeth is said to have given her blessing to royal dresser Angela Kelly to give a rare insight into the monarch after 70 years on the throne. Angela has been a royal aide to Her Majesty for almost 30 years, and is expected to release her book next month – which will be an update of her 2019 book The Other Side of the Coin – ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Queen Elizabeth II is paying tribute to her late husband Prince Philip on the 1-year anniversary of his death.Her Royal Highness' official Twitter account posted a touching message Saturday dedicated to the Duke of Edinburgh, who died last year at 99 from old age. The social media post included the poem «The Patriarchs — An Elegy» by Simon Armitage.The poem read in part, «The weather in the window this morning is snow, unseasonal singular flakes, a slow winter's shiver.

Today almost 2000 special guests have gathered at Westminster Abbey to remember Prince Philip. After his funeral was restricted by Covid-19 laws in place last year – which left Her Majesty, 95, sat alone – those who were unable to attend have come together to pay their respects. The day marked the first public outing by Prince Andrew since he settled out of court with Virginia Giuffre, after being accused of sexual assault – which he has denied.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte joined the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to attend their great-grandfather's memorial service. The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, died on 9 April last year at Windsor Castle.

Princess Beatrice has broken down into tears as she sang a hymn at the memorial of her grandfather Prince Philip on Tuesday 29 March at Westminster Abbey. The 33 year old can be seen standing next to her cousin Prince William, 39, and her sister Princess Eugenie, 32, as she puts her hand up to her face to wipe away tears during the memorial.
