In just six days time, summer will officially begin – yes, Love Island is returning to our screens. Almost a year since Mille Court and Liam Reardon were crowned winners of the 2021 series, a whole new batch of Islanders looking for love are set to move into the Mallorca villa.
While the basic format of the show remains the same, all of this year’s action will be taking place in a completely different setting as ITV has upped sticks and relocated to a bigger, swisher and more remote Spanish mansion. Ahead of the villa opening its doors to contestants next week, OK! was given an exclusive tour around the Majorca abode.
From the all-new dressing room to where the villa’s not-so-subtle cameras are, here’s what we discovered inside… The Entrance What is a series of Love Island without slow motion arrivals to the villa? The journey to the Mallorca mansion is admittedly not very glam (think narrow rural roads with lots of awkward crossing points), but once at the property, Islanders will be able to make their grand entrance in style. This year’s stars will make their way along a wooden boardwalk and underneath a gigantic metallic heart before going into the villa’s huge front doors. While the villa is brand new for 2022, it features all of the Love Island details we’ve come to know and love – neon signs, cheeky slogans and block brights.
Once they’re through the entrance, Islanders are actually on the second floor, which is home to the beach hut, bathroom, girls dressing room and ice coffee central – the all-important balcony. Girls’ Dressing Room Impeccably clean, spotless and fully stocked with products – obviously the dressing room won’t stay like this for long.

With Love Island season well and truly underway, a new batch of Islanders are looking to find love in a brand new Mallorcan villa. And while the singletons may be soaking up the sun around, it turns out that you don’t have to be on the popular ITV2 show in order to spend time making moves around the firepit or discussing your type on paper on the balcony. In fact, Donna Sykes, 51, from Wigan has added some Love Island luxury to her garden.
Gemma Owen has found herself at the centre of the drama in the Love Island villa so far, especially after the recent arrival of one of her ex-boyfriends, Jacques O'Neill. The 19 year old, who is former professional footballer Michael Owen's eldest daughter, was left shocked when Jacques, 23, entered the famous villa as a bombshell, and exclaimed: "Oh my god, that's my ex-boyfriend," as she saw his face.
Sunday’s episode of Love Island will see Gemma Owen ’s ex Jacques O’Neill make his debut. And if the rumour mill is anything to go by, there’s talks that another of her exes, Cameron Green, could be joining him.The defender who recently left Wrexham Green, 23, has previously spent time at Gemma’s home and even met her family during their brief fling. A friend told The Sun on Sunday: “Her family really liked him, especially as he was a sporty, hard-working footballer.
With Love Island back on our screens, eagle-eyed shoppers have been looking for ways to get their own villa vibes at home - from gold champagne flutes to the Fenty Gloss Bomb. And now, you can make your garden feel like the Love Island patio with an affordable fire pit.
Michael Owen has flown out of the UK ahead of tonight’s hotly anticipated Love Island return. The former England player departed the country to head for Germany after admitting he was living “every father’s nightmare” ahead of his daughter’s debut on the show. Gemma Owen, 19, is the oldest of his four children and is set to make her debut on the iconic dating show on Monday night - however dad Michael won’t be at home to see it as he shared a snap from beside the Olympiastadion in Munich, on Monday.
The new series of Love Island is just hours away and as the next instalment of singletons unpack their bikinis a number of shake ups have been brought in breathe new life into the show. But host Laura Whitmore will just be hoping she can breathe with having to endure a bad odour after revealing she hoped the new villa "smells better". Along with changes to the show's format, including viewers picking who the contestants couple up with in episode one, there will also be a completely new location.
Chloe Burrows has praised Love Island bosses for a major shake up which will see fans vote on who couples up with who in the first week. The former contestant, 25, branded the decision as "smart" and believes it won't make people feel as though they have to stick with their original partner. Taking to Twitter she wrote: "New love island voting for the couples before is smart cos it gets rid of that first bit where you feel like you have to stick with ur couple.
