AJ Odudu has jetted off to Vietnam for a sun-soaked getaway having landed a new presenting role. The Strictly Come Dancing star, 33, has shared a series of stunning snaps from her work-related trip, and has also revealed that the foot injury she sustained during her time on the BBC One dance show is on the mend. AJ, who was replaced by Maisie Smith for the Strictly live arena tour, took to Instagram on 13 January to announce that she was flying out to Vietnam to film a show that was "coming soon".
The star beamed as she stood in the airport next to a series of enormous suitcases, while holding onto her crutches. Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter . You can sign up at the top of the page.
Teasing the upcoming project, AJ told her followers: "When one door closes, an aeroplane door opens! I'm off to Vietnam to film a show coming soon to @channel4 & @hbomax." Poking fun at her huge amount of luggage, she added: "...(& I'm travelling light)." Kai Widdrington, AJ's Strictly dance partner, wrote: "Enjoy partner!!! Have an amazing time", while fellow TV star Alex Scott added: "I loved Vietnam... get over to Cambodia also if you can..." Having finally landed, AJ began sharing a variety of sun-soaked snaps, including a gorgeous selfie. She also posted a picture of her "moon boot" which she previously had to wear for her foot injury, revealing that she'd finally managed to take it off.
The excited star wrote: "Moonboot's off, ashy skin's gone and I am ready to film (but not dance). Can't wait to tell you what I'm working on for @hbomax & @channel4". In another holiday photo, AJ modelled a gorgeous orange bikini as she flaunted her enviable abs.
