The princess royal had an important role in the ceremony, which royal watchers had the chance to see her fulfill after the service.Anne, who was the Gold-Stick-in-Waiting, rode horseback behind the new king and his queen, Camilla, as they rode in the Gold State Coach from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace.

A family affair! King Charles III received an outpouring of support from his royal relatives — including all three of his siblings — during his coronation on Saturday, May 6.

Prior to today's Coronation, the York family appeared to enjoy a lavish evening out on the town together, after the King Charles' brother Prince Andrew was papped in central London with daughters Beatrice and Eugenie.The royal trio were photographed leaving a luxury private club in the capital, where they'd been joined by the Princess Anne and her husband Timothy Lawrence, her daughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall. Also joining the festivities at Mayfair club Oswald's - which is owned by British entrepreneur Robin Birley - were the Kents - the Duke of Kent and Prince Michael - as well as Prince Edward (Duke of Wessex) and his wife Sophie.The owner of the plush club also owns and runs 5 Hertford Street, which is where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had their first date, but despite being in London for his father's big day, Charles' youngest son was absent from the festivities.

Princess Anne ‘confronted’ Camilla over her use of the Queen title during a tense Coronation dinner, Princess Diana’s dressmaker has claimed. David Emanuel alleged the Princess Royal told Camilla, "you're not Queen, you're the Queen Consort", during a meal with members of the Royal Family. Camilla has been referred to as Queen Consort since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September last year.The late monarch expressed in her Platinum Jubilee message her "sincere wish" that Camilla be known as "Queen Consort" following the end of her reign.

But according to Anne, the monarchy is not just a relevant institution, but a necessary one, despite society today and of yesteryear being vastly different. 

Princess Anne carried out no fewer than 214 engagements last year despite the bereavement of losing the late Queen.

King Charles' sister Princess Anne doesn't believe a "slimmed down" monarchy is a move the king should make. "Well, I think the ‘slimmed down’ was said in a day when there were a few more people around," the Princess Royal told CBC News in an interview that aired days before King Charles III's coronation. Princess Anne was seemingly referring to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the loss of other senior royals in recent years.

Princess Anne thinks the future of the British monarchy is pretty straightforward when it comes to her older brother King Charles III's reign.In a rare interview with, the 72-year-old daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip gave her take on the type of monarch she believes her brother will be.«Well, you know what you're getting because he's been practicing for a bit,» Anne said with a laugh. «And I don't think he'll change.

Princess Anne appeared to make a reference to Prince Harry and Meghan as she discussed the prospect of slimming down the monarchy in a new shock interview before King Charles' coronation, the Mirror reports.
