Laura Whitmore is back on screens for Love Island 2022 after a long and hotly anticipated wait. The host, 37, has been showing off her trip to Spain as the first episode got under way.This season will be her third year presenting after she began in 2020 and much has been said about how much she is getting paid for it. Previously reports said that Laura was set to earn a huge £500,000 for this series.
According to The Sun, the mum of one earned £600,000 for hosting Love Island in 2021, despite not featuring on every episode. Networthpost reports that Laura’s net worth is $15 million - or £11.9 million. While she’s hosted Love Island and Aftersun for two years, she has also had other stints.
Laura began her career as a presenter at MTV Ireland before stints on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! NOW! and The Hot Desk. While she’s known for presenting, the blonde beauty featured in the 2020 film, Sadhbh, where she played Claire, a struggling mother. She also wrote the film alongside director Arjun Rose.
Just recently Laura hit back at critics about how much she may earn during her presenting gig on Love Island. As the video began, Laura could be seen sipping out of an official Love Island water bottle before pointing above her head to some text which read: "Shall we chat Love Island" followed by a red heart emoji. She pulled a face as the words: "Laura has the easiest job on the telly! She gets paid £50k a min.
It's an outrage", pop up on screen. Laura smiled as she pointed back to her response, which read: "Firstly, Iain has never had attention on money he earns. Why don't we like women earning money?" She went on to tell viewers: "These are all actual things that have been written or said," followed by a silly face
