Urban explorers have been picking through the ruins of a Scots home abandoned for so long that cars outside have been consumed by undergrowth.
Aberdeen Live reports that TikTok user escapade_z has shared a video of the derelict house in Aberdeen with their 680,000 followers. The video shows that the home, and its surroundings, appear to have lain untouched for years.
John Dale, the Cheshire-based urban explorer behind the account, said there were around 20 old cars sitting outside the home, all swallowed up by the natural environment over time. Inside one room, the floor is barely visible, covered in rubbish, personal belongings and old newspapers.
Drawers have been pulled out and emptied, while rubbish covers the floor and one set of drawers is weighed down with old books. Elsewhere in the house, the floor is covered in even more clutter, and a vintage pram lies rotting among the rubbish.
Wallpaper can be seen peeling, while windows have been broken or removed, exposing the home to the elements. An old Singer sewing machine can be seen sitting on a table in one room.
It is unclear when the house was abandoned, or why. But that hasn't stopped viewers from taking to TikTok to share their despair at the state of the abandoned house.
One said: "Why are they all left? Surely someone must own it." John replied: "They're always owned but just abandoned and uncared for."
Another user said: "Brings a tear to my eye seeing this." While a third viewer added: "Wow, so many stories and history lying around there guys."
The video has amassed more than 170,000 views, while another video shared by John of the former Woolmanhill Hospital in Aberdeen has garnered over 1.2 million views.
