Thania Garcia Atlantic Records and Andrew Watt’s Gold Tooth Records have launched a joint venture with Iggy Pop as their first signing. The punk icon will be releasing his as-yet-untitled new album will be released through the label, with the first single, “Frenzy,” arriving Oct. 28. “I’m the guy with no shirt who rocks; Andrew and Gold Tooth get that, and we made a record together the old-fashioned way,” said Pop in a statement announcing the partnership. “The players are guys I’ve known since they were kids and the music will beat the shit out of you. Have a great day.” Pop’s album will feature production from Grammy Award-winning producer Watt and is his first full-length studio effort since “Free” in 2019, via Loma Vista.

Thania Garcia Brandon Davis and Jeff Levin have been re-upped to executive vice presidents and co-heads of pop A&R for Atlantic Records‘ Warner Music imprint; both will be based in Los Angeles, and report to Atlantic President of A&R, Pete Ganbarg. “Both Brandon and Jeff have worked at Atlantic their entire professional lives, rising from entry-level intern and assistant positions to become an integral part of the leadership of our A&R team,” commented Ganbarg. “I couldn’t be happier for them and am thrilled to recognize their contributions with these well-deserved promotions.” Previously, the pair of execs held positions as senior VPs of A&R. Davis joined Atlantic 11 years ago as an assistant in the A&R department, and Levin joined in 2010 and has since A&R’d a wide range of WMG artists. Retired rugby player Damian Browne of Galway, Ireland, became the first person to row from New York City to Ireland after his boat made a treacherous arrival on the coast of County Galway in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, Irish broadcaster RTE reported. Browne left New York City on June 14 in his Cushlamachree, a 20-foot ocean rowing boat that was custom-built for this journey. The term "Cushlamachree" means "darling" or "sweetheart" in Irish, according to Merriam-Webster.
