Actor Sergio Calderón, best known for his roles in Pirates of the Caribbean and Men in Black, has passed away at the age of 77, his spokesperson has announced. He died of natural causes, surrounded by his family in a Los Angeles hospital. Sergio made his film debut in the 1970 film The Bridge in the Jungle, and he later played bandit Malavida Valdése on the pilot episode of The A-Team in 1983, returning to the show as pirate El Cajón for its third season in 1984.
In 1999 he appeared as Jose, or the head on a stick, in the first Men In Black film. He appeared to be particularly proud of this role, sharing photos of it on his Twitter. In 2017 he shared a snap of this film role, which he captioned: "Mickey holding up my head for hours during the shooting of #MeninBlack with @imWilISmith and #tommyleejohnes" His last tweet, posted in 2022, also saw him saw a photo of his MIB role, as he wrote: "25yrs one of the greatest movies I worked in was released: MIB.
