Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt emphatically backed his captain Ricardo Santos following his error against Sheffield Wednesday and believes the Carabao Cup clash against Aston Villa gives his side a good chance to show a reaction.

Evatt has backed his skipper following the error and the Bolton boss has reiterated his belief in the defender's abilities. He is confident bigger things lie in store for both Wanderers and Santos.
He said: “He’s human, he’s allowed to make mistakes, we’ll back him, we’ll pick him up and we’ll go again. We know how good he is. No-one should ever doubt how good he is, he’s fantastic and he’ll go again and we’ll go again and bigger and better things lie ahead for us both I think.
