WAKEONE has announced that TO1 member Chan will be absent from the upcoming New York stop of the KCON US Tour 2022 amid health concerns.The South Korean label took to the K-pop boyband’s official Twitter page yesterday earlier today at New York local time (September 1) to announce that member Chan will not join the rest of his bandmates in the group’s performances at the upcoming New York stop of the KCON US Tour.“Chan wasn’t feeling well during a rehearsal for the KCON 2022 US Tour New York, and he is currently taking a rest,” read the company’s English statement. “Although the artist has a strong will to participate in the performance, we have decided [for] Chan not to attend the New York performance to prioritise the artist’s health and condition.”“We apologise to the fans for causing concern with the sudden news, and we promise to do our best for Chan’s recovery,” WAKEONE concluded.The New York iteration of the ongoing KCON US Tour, which is scheduled for tonight at local time, is the final stop of the tour, after a slew of performances across the US in the past month, in cities such as San Francisco, Houston, Atlanta and more.Aside from TO1, other acts who are part of the KCON tour include girl groups STAYC and LIGHTSUM, as well as boyband CRAVITY.

Harnaam Kaur has been speaking out about her journey with PCOS on social media for some years now, and now the activist opened up to OK! about what that looks like and the hurdles she’s faced along the way. Harnaam, 31, has always been vocal about her diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome and the impact it's had on her physical and mental health. While many have referred to Harnaam as the “bearded lady”, the sometimes negative connotations that come with being identified by her physical appearance have led to extreme trolling.
“I still get abuse. I still get the death threats and abuse in public if I'm at events,” she explained. “Being bullied by kids or young adults is hard within itself, but then you delve into the adult world and you realise adults are worse.
“These threats are just not just threats. It does have a mental sort of impact as well.” Harnaam previously appeared in Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over: Body Positive Warrior and for the show Harnaam was dubbed as an “inspirational body positive advocate”. While she says she doesn’t want to spend years “crying over her body”, Harnaam is far from accepting herself: “I wouldn't say I accept it because if I had the choice of do you want it or not, I'd be like no.” PCOS is a condition that affects how women’s ovaries work and according to the NHS it affects one in 10 women in the UK.
Many women suffer from the condition that can cause irregular periods, weight gain, acne and excessive hair growth. Harnaam recalls being diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 12 and the long name of the condition led her to believe she had “some rare disease”. “As I grew older, I realised that so many people have it, even celebrities, but they don't speak up about it”.

Taylor Swift is set to begin at the University of Texas (UTA) in Austin.The new course, which begins this autumn and is titled The Taylor Swift Songbook, will see her read alongside the likes of Chaucer, Shakespeare, Keats and Sylvia Plath.Preliminary texts for the course include her 2020 lockdown albums ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’, 2019’s ‘Lover’ and the new ‘Taylor’s Version’ reissue of ‘Red’.According to a description on the UTA website, the course will use “the songwriting of pop music icon Taylor Swift to introduce literary critical reading and research methods-basic skills for work in English literature and other humanities disciplines.It adds: “Focusing on Swift’s music and the cultural contexts in which it and her career are situated, we’ll consider frameworks for understanding her work, such as poetic form, style, and history among various matters and theoretical issues important to contextualisation as we practice close and in-depth reading, evaluating secondary sources, and building strong arguments.”Earlier this year, New York University’s Clive Davis Institute launched a new course on Swift. The course began at the Davis Institute, which is part of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, on January 26 ran through to March 9.In May, Swift then delivered a commencement address for New York University’s class of 2022.
