Having worked in front of the camera for most of her career, Lisa Snowdon certainly knows a thing or two about how to look – and feel – her best. Now 52, the model and This Morning presenter has become something of an advocate for self-care and positive ageing – especially since going through the perimenopause and menopause and the effect it had on her body and mind, an experience she has spoken openly about.
Never one to gatekeep, Lisa regularly sharing the products, treatments and wellbeing practices she swears by to look and feel her best, including the professional treatments that have helped to combat the effects of collagen loss in the skin. We caught up with her to find out more… What changes in your skin have you noticed since the menopause and how do you care for your skin differently now? When people say everything changes when your skin goes through menopause, they’re not lying.
I have completely overhauled my skincare routine in the past few years, focusing now on a good cleanser, layering my serums before moisturising, and always an SPF.
Twice weekly I will exfoliate and I like to use a soothing, hydrating mask. Through perimenopause and menopause my skin became duller, more dry and harder to predict, and I was getting a few breakouts around my jawline.
I’ve finally got this under control now, but it took a while.
Talk us through your experience with radiofrequency treatment Thermage FLX… I have been super committed to my skincare routine for years now, but I knew that I was ready for some additional support to keep me feeling my best. I came across Thermage FLX and I met Dr Galyna at Dr Rita Rakus Clinic who reassured me that the treatment would be perfect for tackling my concerns.
