They’ve eaten witchetty grubs, waded through fish guts and been buried alive – but now nine fearless stars are back for more I’m A Celeb-style torture.The Bushtucker trials on this special show – which is set in South Africa – are tougher and scarier than ever before, with Ant and Dec warning of “harsher and more unforgiving” conditions. Nine celebrities will be entering camp in the launch episode, with more famous faces set enter the series at a later point. The show will have no public vote and the stars will be competing against each other in a battle to become the first ever 'I'm A Celebrity Legend'.
Here are the intrepid jungle veterans who’ll be back in camp... Shaun Ryder First campout: 2010 Music legend and 2010 runner-up Sean says it’s a “real honour” to be part of this series. Speaking of his first jungle experience, Sean, 60, reveals his best memories are of “chatting around the campfire” as well as “eating a lot of penises, testicles and eyeballs" during trials and having "the best buzz when I jumped out of the plane”.
Helen Flanagan First campout: 2012 An older and wiser Helen admits she “was not expecting it all and struggled” during her 2012 appearance on the show. She now says: “I was 22 and I was quite young. I’ve had three children since and I have grown up a lot.” Former Corrie actress Helen, 32, says she will go back on the show to “be a better version” of herself and “make herself proud”.
Phil Tufnell First campout: 2003 Ex-England cricketer Phil was crowned King of the Jungle in 2003, and admits his life changed “in a good way” after filming. “The show opened up other doors to explore,” says Phil, 56. He admits he’s “excited and nervous” about facing challenges 20 years on.
