I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! fan favourite Scarlette Douglas thanked fans for their support as she underwent an MRI scan after suffering an injury this weekend. The TV presenter, who was recently slated to be replacing Richard Arnold on Good Morning Britain, injured herself ahead of Soccer Aid, which is taking place in June.
She thanked fans for their thoughts and prayers while revealing that she sufffered a “super painful” tear in her leg while training for the charity event.This year’s celebrity lineup also includes Tom Grennan, Mo Farah, Liam Payne, Tommy Fury, Paddy McGuinness and a whole host of other notable names. On Saturday, 36 year old A Place in the Sun host Scarlette took to Instagram, where she shared a lengthy statement for her 76,000 followers.
Scarlette told fans: "Thank you everyone for your prayers, well wishes and good energy; I don’t need an operation! "Luckily, what was initially speculated to be a partial Achilles tear is actually a grade 2b soleus tear. (Grade 3 being the worst.) "The Soleus is the lower part of the calf muscle that attaches the main calf muscle to the Achilles.” Scarlette added that she hopes to be back on the pitch in no time after having physical therapy for the painful injury.
"It’s super painful but with a lot of good physio, rest and the right exercises, I’ll be back in time for Soccer Aid!” she explained. "Remember, this is a minor setback for a major comeback, and trust me when I say no matter what, I will be fit enough to play at least do 5/10 minutes on that Old Trafford Pitch.” "Nothing will stop me!! Thanks again to all of you that reached out and have been thinking of me,” Scarlette added.
