‘I look so like Kate Moss I’ve walked catwalks and worked with celebs - people can’t tell us apart’

With 7.8 billion people in the world, chances are there’s another person somewhere on the planet who looks a bit like you. And when it comes to being somebody’s lookalike, there’s worst people to bear a resemblance to than supermodel Kate Moss, who is celebrating her 50th birthday today (Tuesday 16 January). For Denise Ohnona, this is her reality.
Since the age of 14, the mum-of-two has been told that she’s a spitting image of the star, so much so that six years ago she began working as a professional lookalike. “When people first started saying it, I didn’t know who she was. We didn’t have the internet back then and there were no phones, so there was no easy way for me to see what she looked like,” Denise, 43, tells OK!.
“Growing up, I thought I was really ugly. People would bully me and say that I looked like an alien because of my eyes. I remember crying about it to my mum.
My sister had olive skin and lovely, long brown hair and I’d say that I wanted to look like her. So at the time I couldn’t take it as a compliment because I didn't know who Kate was. Now I know it’s a big compliment.” After being approached on Facebook by a producer who worked on the TV series Lookalikes when she was 37 years old, Denise got her first glimpse of the lookalike world.
However, with no experience working in the field, things didn’t get off to the best of starts. “I decided to give it a go and it was the worst thing in the world. I’d never done anything like that before and they wanted to make me speak like Kate.
I’m Scouse, so I tried to do a London accent which didn’t go to plan,” she says. “They put the camera in front of me and I just didn't know what to say. Needless to say, when it all came out, I think I was barely in it.” But
