Lisandro Martinez has thanked Manchester United fans for their support and how welcome they have made him feel at the club. The Argentine international only joined last summer but has quickly established himself as a fan favourite.
United signed Martinez on a five-year contract, with the option of a further year, after agreeing a deal worth up to £57m with former side Ajax. The 25-year-old has quickly settled into life at Old Trafford and has already established himself as one of the most important players under Erik ten Hag.
United fans not only admire Martinez for his brilliant defensive ability, but also for the passion and pride he brings to his role at the heart of the defence.

It is a feeling reciprocated by the Argentine international too, who has taken the time to thank United supporters for making him feel so at home at his new club.
"Manchester is a club with a lot of history, one of the greatest in the world," he told TyC Sports. "I really enjoy playing here, it's a source of pride. The support of the people is incredible. As a visitor it seems that we are locals. They are very passionate.
“For me it is a huge pride to play for Manchester United, in the best league in the world, that people feel identified with me... it makes me give everything on the field.”
Martinez also thanked supporters for voicing their support for him during matches, in particular whenever they chant 'Argentina' in support of him and compatriot Alejandro Garnacho.
He added: “I get goosebumps when they chant '”Argentina, Argentina'.”
