Home and Away star Sarah Roberts has undergone major surgery to remove endometriosis from her uterus, bowel and both of her ovaries. On Friday, the actress, 38, shared a photo of herself in hospital and revealed her post-surgery wounds. Sarah, who played Willow Harris in the Aussie soap, explained to her followers that she was relieved she was finally diagnosed with stage two endometriosis after suffering years of pain.
Sarah took a selfie of herself laying in a hospital bed, wearing a white t-shirt that had been pulled up to show the bandages on her tummy from the operation. Despite what she'd gone through, she still had a smile on her face. In another photo, she was seen still laying down in her bed, but playing around with filters as she smiled for a selfie with a dog filter on her face.
According to NHS, endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes. It's a long-term condition that can have a significant impact on your life, including severe pain and making it harder to get pregnant.
