With a loving family and a baby on the way, Sarah Read's dreams were starting to come true. She and her partner Andy had plans of settling down away from the North West and buying a hotel in his native Scotland.
The Preston couple even had their sights set on a motorhome which they wanted to use to explore the breadth of the country with their first child, who they'd affectionately nicknamed the 'travel baby'. Sarah fell pregnant in 2022, and while it should have been one of the happiest periods of her life, tragedy suddenly struck.
Due to an underlying heart condition, she suffered a stroke. With doctors scared for her health, she was advised her to terminate her pregnancy.

However, the 31-year-old went on to suffer another stroke before sadly passing away in August 2022. LancsLive reports how an inquest into her death, held in November, revealed that not long after Sarah was born, she was diagnosed with a condition which resulted in her having a mechanical heart valve fitted.
Sarah's mum, Jillian Read was, understandably protective of her daughter, but Sarah thrived and grew up to become a beautiful and confident young woman.
