This is the heart-stopping moment a motorcyclist is caught running a red light and pulling a wheelie on a street in Edinburgh.
The yob was caught on dashcam footage pulling off the reckless stunt near the Grange and Marchmont neighbourhoods at around 4.15pm on Sunday, October 16. The lout was seen overtaking vehicles, speeding through a red light and racing down the street pulling wheelies into the distance.
As reported by Edinburgh Live, the incident is the latest in a string of young, reckless motorcyclists being caught on camera acting dangerously in the capital. This year, multiple reckless stunts involving off-road motorcycle gangs and young drivers were reported to police and captured on film.
In June, one biker was seen carrying a child at the front of an off-road bike while driving at dangerous speeds in Sighthill Park. In July, an Edinburgh man described the city as "the wild west" after capturing a video of multiple off-road bikers running red lights and wreaking havoc along on Lanark Road.
Yobs were seen driving recklessly and pulling stunts along the city’s busy Royal Mile later in August. Footage of the dangerous incidents later emerged on the TikTok app. In Edinburgh’s Niddrie, police previously said the anti-social use of motorcycles was worsening in the residential community.
The reckless yobs typically wear black clothing and wear black face coverings to protect their identity.
