Passengers rushed to help an injured child after they were hit by a bus on a busy man road in Stockport on Monday afternoon (January 15).
An air ambulance was called to the scene of the collision on the A6 (Buxton Road) shortly after 3pm. Emergency services closed off the road in both directions as the child was rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries'.
The Manchester Evening News understands the child, thought to have been a boy, did not suffer life-threatening injuries in the crash. The driver remained at the scene to assist with enquiries.

The incident is currently being investigated by GMP's Road Policing Unit. No arrests have been made in connection with the collision, police have confirmed.
One passenger on the bus described the scenes after the child was hit, with those on board rushing off to help and calling the emergency services.
They said: "He must've been crossing the road or maybe he tripped, but we saw this kid dangerously close to the bus. The next thing you know, there's a thud and the bus stops.
"We see him and he's in a bad state, on the floor and screaming. The people on the bus went to help him and call ambulances, then he was taken away."
The A6 was closed for a number of hours on Monday evening after the collision. The North West Ambulance Service confirmed they sent ambulance crew, a senior paramedic, a critical care paramedic and air ambulance to the scene.
The child was treated in the road before being rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries'. Stagecoach have since confirmed one of their services was involved in the incident and are 'assisting police' with enquiries.
